To the Specchios... Thanks!
I just wanted to send the hugest thanks to the Specchio family for their warmth and hospitality while we were in New Jersey. Quite honestly, I didn't even know if you guys would even remember who I was, much less take me in as if I were one of your own. I also want to congratulate you on the GARGANTUAN success of the benefit dinner. From just the preliminary figures, I heard you guys made more than 3 times the amount you were projecting and I'm thrilled for your success. But when you consider that event was structured around the celebration of a life like Emily's, I can honestly say I am not surprised in the least. Words cannot express how wonderful you people are and how highly I think of you. I think Emily's most inspirational quality was her philosophy of paying kindness forward and I now understand why she was that way; she is just doing what has learned from you all her life. I want you to know that Emily reflected the generosity of your family everyday that I knew her, and though I know she was her own person, I truly understand now where she got it from. It comforts me to know that in a world as ugly as this can get, it still somehow manages to maintain such quality, incredible human beings. Thanks for your kindness and know that your family and your daughter pushes me to be a better person everyday. I learned so much from Emily in life and continue to learn from her after her passing. I know Emily cannot be with you on this physical plane, but I hope you can feel her spirit with you and that her memory and legacy help you deal with an otherwise unbearable loss. I think about you always.

Thank you Anton. We feel the same about you and all Emily's VT family. God and the universe not only blessed us with Emily and Kate but with all of you. You are our family too and our doors are always open to you. The success of the benefit dinner was large in part due to all of us who were touched by Emily's life. Keep her in your heart for a smile on demand.
