Things have been so bittersweet lately. Sam FINALLY proposed. It was beautiful: while walking the dog around the duckpond at night, we rounded a corner to see that he covered the gazebo in lit candles with strawberries, chocolate and champagne. I was so surprised and happy. I knew you were watching down on us, I can't help but be overwhelmed by your presence near the duckpond. I wanted so bad to be able to call you and tell you all about it.
A lot of people lost their friends in the tragedy on 4/16/07. Abbie happened to be one of them. I tried to console her though something I knew she would be inconsolable through. She kept apologizing for not knowing what I was going through when you died and all I kept thinking is I wish I could save all the loved ones from the grief they are going to go through.
Meghan came back from Switzerland this past week and you would have been with her. We decorated our caps with Linz and all wished you could have been with us. Your presence was around us all weekend and you kept the weather perfect! I cried a little during the last speech of the commencement when the speaker recapped college life including freshmen roomates. I was so lucky to be randomly placed with such an amazing angel.
I will be with lots of your closest friends and family tomorrow celebrating your life. Your family has done such an amazing job creating goodness from your death. You are still in my thoughts everyday and I love you so much. - Ashley
