Embrace that which defines me

As I was reading this beautiful phrase on Emily's headstone yesterday, I realized that in my life what truly defines me above all, is being a father to two of the most wonderful, beautiful and talented daughters on earth. Thank you Kate and Emily for giving me this purpose in life with all the ups and downs and laughter an tears. The special times we shared and will continue to share, we follow us through this life and next. Now my life is enriched more with the adoption of all the VT kids and Em's friends who have defined me as "PaPa Specs". I will always be here for all of you to encourage and put a smile on your faces. Yes I believe that the true meaning of one's life is measured not by "what you are" but "who you are". On this Father's Day "who I am" makes me very happy.
