Chocolat

Reading the Sketchy Specs list reminded me of many more Emily stories. Emily worked at J. Emanuel Chocolate Shop in Chester throughout high school. I worked there with her during a few summers and christmas holidays. Whenever we worked together we'd always put on the soundtrack to Willy Wonka as it was one of our favorite movies. Emily definitely had her fair share of weirdos that visited the shop (as mentioned in the sketchy specs list), but one of the FUNNIEST things that happened to her involved the movie "Chocolat".

You see, for some reason, people think that just because you work in a chocolate shop that you have seen every movie that features Chocolate. Well after the movie "Chocolat" came out, we often would get asked if we had seen this movie. One afternoon, Emily was working at J. Emanuel by herself in Morristown. The Morristown store always had much less customers, and working there could, at times, become pretty boring. A woman came in and kind of browsed around for awhile, then asked Emily if she had seen the movie "Chocolat". Emily, tired of hearing this question, told her that she had not yet seen the movie. The woman was quite shocked at this answer and felt the need to tell the movie to Emily - SCENE BY SCENE. She got so into telling the plot of the movie that at one point she was in tears in explaining what happened and grabbed Emily's hand for support. Emily was quite freaked out by this woman and kept hoping another customer would come in to break up this story - to no avail. Literally an hour later, the woman finished the movie recap and exclaimed that talking to Emily was cheaper than therapy and asked when she worked again. Emily told her the wrong hours and was annoyed when the woman only purchased a few chocolate covered pretzels and left!! Emily was determined to never see Chocolat on principle after that as the movie had been ruined for her forever... Willy Wonka was much better anyway!! :)

Love ya sis. Always my lil' wo.
