more memories

Spring 2004, Em and I helped out with Relay for Life held here at Tech. The night started off pretty good. We had plenty of people there with us and it was a great bonding experience. As the night went on, fewer people were on the track but Em and I were wide awake singing as many songs as we could think of. Em of course knew the words to almost every song we thought of because music was her thing. Anyway, it was getting really cold. I mean, so cold that the jeans, under armor, and sweats over our jeans were not keeping us warm enough. I lived on campus at the time so every 2 hours or so, we would run up to my dorm room and grab a cup of hot chocolate and another layer of clothes. We started to look like eskimos towards the end of the relay. Eskimos walking like they were on a horse for hours. We kept on walking though. Even when everyone else was spooning in the gigantic tent we had set up. It was pretty tempting to climb in and sleep for a couple hours but we didnt. We were in pretty bad shape after walking all night. But of course, Em was not about to let that ruin her night. Or mine for that matter. She dragged us all out to Alicia's apartment because Alicia's friends from home were visiting. One of which ended up transfering and being one of Em's and Ashley's roommates the next year and my little in the fraternity. But, the point of this long drawn out story was that Em never let a couple achey muscles and a long night of no sleep ruin hers or anyone elses weekend.

This is the HAHA game we played during our lock in for the Fraternity. Shortly after this Em told us all about her ghost in her home in Jersey. This was only a week after we met Emily and we all thought she was crazy and a great story teller. Little did I know that this girl who just freaked me out with the story of a ghost living in her house was going to be one of my best friends. So I just made sure to stay in the new part of her house when I went to visit her!

Em always had my back and I miss her terribly.
