Just Like Yesterday

It's just like yesterday when we were settling in to our freshmen year room, unpacking and making a friendship that I will treasure forever. My first four years at college were amazing and 80% of my memories involve you (the other 20% being when I was courting my future husband). My sister was struggling to decide between University of Colarado and Virginia Tech but during one last trip to Blacksburg before she had to make a deciscion she realized there was no decision to be made, it's always been VT.
Once she decided her struggle became finding a roomate, should she leave it to fate and hope that she got as lucky as we did or should she search someone out. I tried to tell her it would all work out no matter what she chose, even if she didn't end up with an awesome roomate there would be plenty of people she would meet. All I kept thinking was, God I hope she gets even half as lucky as I did with you. Looking back I feel so blessed that not only was I placed with someone I could be great friends with but someone that was an amazing roomate, BEST friend and would be there for all the good and bad moments of our college years. Someone who never said no to an opportunity and always had amazing ideas for creating our own opportunities. I'm sure she doesn't need it, but just in case can you keep an eye out for her and help her have the same amazing years that we had.

I'm donating my hair to locks of love next week in your honor. I'm super scared but I know you'll be watching over me.

I love you soo much and miss you terribly. However, I'm so happy that you're family has done such an amazing job keeping your spirit alive and bringing so much good to the world through the foundation. I continue to feel so lucky that I knew you and continue to embrace life!
