One Month

One month later, and not a day goes by that I don’t think of Emily. As everyone has said, she’s touched so many lives and mine is no different. I find myself appreciating everything and everyone in my life just a little more. I try just a little harder to make a difference to the people around me. I try to squeeze just a little more out of each day. I think that’s a big part of Emily’s legacy … living a life full of meaning every moment of every day.

I’ve watched more sunsets in the last month than I probably had in my entire life before May 15, 2006. And as long as I live, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to see a sunset again without thinking of Emily.
