Winter Break

Now that I have entered the so called "real world" it makes me look back at all the nice long winter break vacations that college gave you. My very first college break I managed to make my way up to Jersey for a week. My sister and her fiancee were living in Morristown a hop and a skip from Em's house. So during my trip I not only got to visit the Specchio household, I got to sample the famous Specchio pesto from Mama Specchio herself. Em's house was just as I imagined, the type of warmth you only get from a family like the Specchios. Em, Kimmie( another Jerseeeeeey girl) and I ended up going into the city to meet my boyfriend at the time who was showing our friend Jena around the city. Riding the train in was half the fun with Em and Kimmie. I don't think we stopped laughing and almost missed our stop. We had a ton of fun and ended up somehow scoring a spot eating at Carmines( a wonderful Italian family style restaurant) near time square. We ended the day with if I remember correctly Ashley Studd making a late night appearance. It was just one of those awesome days in THE city with some of my favorites. Em, we all miss you so much. It is incredible to see how you continue to inspire everyone who knows you and people who have just heard of you.

To the Specchio family, I am so impressed with how you are putting a positive light on everything. I have learned that the holiday season is one of the toughest parts of the year to deal with losing someone and I only hope you got through it as best you could.

I almost can't wait to see what Em does in the New year.....
