Kelly's Knob Hike & Gatorade

Just a couple weeks ago Emily, Rob, Brandon and I went camping to a spot called Kelly's Knob. We took a hike up a section of the Appalachian Trail that could take the wind out of you pretty quick. Esp. if you were carrying a pack that was heavy and had lifted weights with your legs the day before. Needless to say I was not the quickest in the group. The trip was great. Good friends, nice views and some pretty good food to boot.


But what I remember most is walking the trail, more like bringing up the rear, and talking to Emily. We discussed all kinds of things including her experiences overseas, the relaxed lifestyle and how she worked for a company that created flavors for things. I know, took me by surprise too. It still does. Then there was her telling the Gatorade people (who were thinking of making a breakfast drink) that the reason why college students would drink Gatorade in the morning was because they had a rough night before. I think she not only took Gatorade by surprise on that one but also got them thinking. She said that if they ever did come out with a morning after a long night type drink then we would have her to thank. Funny, I just did a search on Google and look what I found... CLICK HERE. I think that as time goes on and I reflect on my memories with and of Emily that I will have to thank her for a LOT more than morning Gatorade.
